Montreal-born and Toronto-incubated Talya Amira is a newly emerging Alternative R&B artist. Talya’s style, punctuated by lush vocal arrangements and evocative harmony is showcased in her debut EP About the Weather, which is set to be released October 9th, 2020.

In the title track, “About the Weather”, Talya ruminates the feeling of intuitively knowing something bad is to come, and dreading the moment it arrives.

“Slowly”, the second track, was written after Talya watched the first season of the television show “The OA”. This song explores the feeling of knowing something to be true, and trying to usher others into that truth.

The final track, “Float”, is about finding new love, and all the funny feelings that come with it. That tension between certainty and uncertainty, as well as the excitement and feeling of being transported each time you are together.

This three-song EP is full of personality and will be available for streaming everywhere as of October 9th, 2020.
